I'm sorry I wrote "being told in 1999 ", I really meant "believing that 2000 '' was finally the year of the 6,000 years

Well...It's 2018 and still no ''Armageddon''
by RULES & REGULATIONS in1972 : we started studying with the jehovah's witnesses when my uncle became an elder and put fear into our family that armageddon was close.
1974 : my mom, my brother and i were all baptized after all the convention talks and watchtower magazine articles that 1975 would likely end this system of things.
1999 : being told that the year 2000 was going to mark the 6 thousand years of mans existence and that the 1000 year kingdom in the new paradisewould come in the year 2000.

Ayahuasca The Soul Herb
by new boy ini'm writing this tread for the people out there that are still looking for some kind of answers.
people who feel the void that any organized thought system can produce.
people who know there is more to this life than our daily routine which eventually will end, when we no longer exist.

WHAT IS AYAHUASCA?
Young ayahuasca plantAyahuasca is an Amazonian plant mixture that is capable of inducing altered states of consciousness, usually lasting between 4 to 8 hours after ingestion. Ranging from mildly stimulating to extremely visionary, ayahuasca is used primarily as a medicine and as a shamanic means of communication, typically in a ceremonial session under the guidance of an experienced drinker.
The main ingredient of this jungle tea is a vine, Banisteriopsis caapi, which like the tea itself is also called ayahuasca (which means ‘vine of the soul’ or ‘vine with a soul’). The secondary ingredient is either chacruna (Psychotria viridis) or chagropanga (Diplopterys cabrerana), plants that contain a relatively high amount of the psychedelic substance DMT.

It's been said that your brain lies to you. It protects you from what is really present in you. If you're ugly, fat, a drug addict, an annoying person, it hides it.
Does Ayahausca show/tell you what kind of person you really are and let's you figure it out after you experience?

Have you ever taken Ayahuasca ? What did you experience?
I have never taken LSD, magic mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, DMT, or any other psychedelic drugs. I did smoke marijuana as a teen. It did make me see another world. I saw colors that were brighter, time stood still, music sounded much clearer and sounded like ''God's'' speaker system, and made me focus on small functions we do on a daily basis as a big deal.

Thank you for your informative comment! I learn something every day from the comments on this wonderful site.
That is an explanation I agree with 100%. The Society writes a small sentence in a Watchtower article and that becomes the new parable teaching. Since every member will read it in the Watchtower magazine study all over the world, there will be no protest from the members.

Faithful and Discreet Slave Parable
Matthew 24:45-47 "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings."
As of July 15, 2013, this is considered to be “old light” by the Governing Body. Rather than viewing the entire group of 144,000 as the “faithful slave,” it is the Governing Body alone who is the “faithful slave.”
“Who, then, is the faithful and discreet slave? In keeping with Jesus’ pattern of feeding many through the hands of a few, that slave is made up of a small group of anointed brothers who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food during Christ’s presence,” (Watchtower, July 15, 2013, p. 22).
This parable is the how the WTBTS have exerted all their power and influence since the last 140 years. The so-called ''Faithful and Discreet Slaves'' who numbered over 15,000 in 2015 are of no use. They are just a distraction. They never dispense any food. They are of no use in the congregations. They don't help any member in any way. If they were really ''appointed over his domestics,'' they would have real functions in field service, assemblies, and heading the congregations.
THEY REALLY DON'T EXIST!

These are the only congregations that are listed on JW.ORG. Two are in English and one in Lakota. If that is correct, I can see how they list only 330 members.

What does the WTBTS really need expansion? Money...Fame....Power ?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini purchase all my lawn and snow equipment from the same hardware store near my house.
thirty- five years ago, they employed only four people...a father and his three sons.
today, this same family owned company employs over 100 workers and operates five warehouses near a 50 mile radius full of lawn and snow equipment.

I purchase all my lawn and snow equipment from the same hardware store near my house. Thirty- five years ago, they employed only four people...a father and his three sons. Today, this same family owned company employs over 100 workers and operates five warehouses near a 50 mile radius full of lawn and snow equipment. They just keep on expanding.
I ask myself these questions every time I hear about another of their warehouse expansions :
Why does this lawn equipment company feel the need to expand? Don't they have enough money/revenue? Doesn't expansion cause more headaches, employee theft, injuries, lawsuits, and human resource problems? At what point will they be happy?
Now, I ask the same question about the WTBTS :
Doesn't the Society have enough money? Doesn't the expansion from a few thousand members (1870's ) to eight million ( today ) cause the Society more headaches, lawsuits, and human resource problems? Does power and notoriety over 8 million really feel that good? Now that the internet has caught up with you, do you have more sleepless nights?
